BAM3 2003

The 4th Annual BAY AREA E30 M3 (BAM3) Picnic

BAM3 is always a great time for all who attend. I'm proud to say last year we all raised $1,700 for a sick young boy that just had a heart transplant. Thanks again to everyone's generous donations, especially to the guys who made contributions and couldn't even come. The event attracts folks from all over the world. Last year a couple came all the way from Holland - for real!!!!

This year's BAM3 Picnic will be a bit more low key.

No fund raiser, no raffles, no auctions, no contests, no prizes and no (weep weep) Bimmer Gongs. It's just back-to-basics this year with the primary focus on what the event is all about - a gathering of E30 M3 enthusiasts. We'll all get together at a fabulous location, exchange information, share stories then have a wonderful BBQ. We'll conclude by taking a group photo then all do a run around the scenic Marin Headlands overlooking San Francisco Bay.

You can expect a great turn out as usual with many fantastic M3's. We will have the same beautiful picnic area as the last 3 years. So if you've come before you'll know it will be cool.

The event will be a bargain in these tough economic times. Just $7 bucks to get in. Now that you got all that dough from the Bush Tax cut, bring along another $15 bucks if you want a cool E30 M3 t-shirt like the ones they will have at SIG FEST EAST. It's your chance to help the economy so we can bring Brandon Wheaton back home from Kuwait.

LOCATION............... Paradise Beach Park, Tiburon CA (same place as last 3 years)

DATE.......................Sunday, September 7th

ARRIVAL TIME.......10am sharp (if you're late you will not get parking...trust me)

COST....................... $7 park admission fee

RESTRICTIONS..... No dogs, pets, drugs in the park

BRING......................Pack plenty of food & drink.

DIRECTIONS:

From highway 101 north or south take Tiburon Blvd exit. Traveling southbound on 101 you take a left at the end of the exit. Coming northbound (you'll cross over the Golden Gate Bridge) on 101 you take right at end of the exit. This will put you east on Tiburon Blvd. Follow Tiburon Blvd a bit over 1 mile (you'll pass a 76 gas station). In the distance, you'll see a stop light as the road curves right. Get into the left hand lane. You'll see a sign for Paradise Beach Park pointing left. Take a left at the stop light. That will put you on Trestle Glen Blvd. Follow Trestle Glen to Paradise Drive. Turn right on Paradise Drive. Paradise Beach Park is approximately 3 miles drive down Paradise Drive. You'll see the Park entrance on the left hand side.

---------------------------------------------------------

Paradise Beach Park is named appropriately. Breathtaking bay views, a huge green lawn, picnic tables, grills, fishing pier, beach area, parking, bathrooms, etc.

The top parking lot is small but it should hold our 30 or so cars if everyone gets there promptly at 10am. IF YOU ARRIVE LATE YOU WILL NOT GET A PARKING SPACE. The people who arrived late last year had no place to park their cars and caused problems for me and the Park Rangers. I can't stress how important this is!! If you can't be there by 10am sharp then don't come. Sounds harsh but in order to continue to hold this event you need to follow the this one event rule.

The picnic runs from 10 am - 2 pm. You can leave after we eat lunch or stick around for a group photo and a spirited group ride. See agenda below:

EVENT AGENDA

3:30 pm - 5 pm * Group drive through scenic Marin Headlands (like last year)

Feel free to bring any spare parts to sell, barter or just give away.

Bring lots of food. Bring items to BBQ because we will have 3 grills. Bring more food than you can eat so we can feed everyone! In past years guys have brought enough sausages for the state of Texas and a keg of to boot! - Yee Hah!! Beer and alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park. PLEASE be responsible with your drinking. Don't forget a picnic blanket, umbrella, camera and sunscreen too.

Bring your husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, kids, grandma, grandpa. Heck, Sept 7th is Grandparents Day so bring'em along and have Grampy show us how to lay some rubber in the parking lot. It's an event for the whole M3 family - get it! All BMW CCA members are invited to come

No RSVP necessary
